Most moles are harmless, but sometimes they can change and catch your attention. Knowing when to get a mole checked can help you feel more confident in your skin.

At our minor skin surgery clinic in Nottingham, we use a simple guideline to highlight common changes people notice in their moles:

Asymmetry: one half looks different from the other.

Border: edges appear irregular or blurred.

Colour: uneven shades of brown, black, or red.

Diameter: larger than average moles.

Evolving: changes in size, shape, or colour over time.

If you notice any of these changes, or a mole looks unusual compared to your other moles, it may be worth seeking a professional opinion.

At Dr Jenna Wa Skin Surgery in Nottingham, we provide safe, expert mole checks and mole removal for peace of mind and comfort. Early assessment is simple, quick, and tailored to you.
