Seborrhoeic keratoses (also known as Seb Ks, senile warts or age spots) are very common, harmless skin growths that often appear as we get older. They can look slightly warty, rough or as though they’re “stuck on” to the skin. While completely benign, they can sometimes catch on clothing, itch, or simply be something you’d rather not see in the mirror.
The great news? They’re incredibly easy to treat.
At Dr Jenna Wa Skin Surgery, we use quick and highly effective treatments called cautery or curettage to remove Seb Ks. These gentle techniques precisely remove the lesion under local anaesthetic. It usually takes just a few minutes, is very well tolerated, and requires little to no downtime.
Once healed, the skin is typically smooth and clear - it’s one of the simplest and most satisfying treatments we offer.
If you’ve noticed a new or bothersome Seb K (or “age wart”), it’s easy to sort out. Book a quick assessment and let us help you restore clear, comfortable skin with minimal fuss.
